Job Overview:
The Senior Finance Manager is a critical leadership role at Pixel Import & Export (X-shop), responsible for overseeing the company’s financial health and ensuring the accurate and timely execution of accounting, compliance, and reporting functions. The role demands strategic financial planning, operational excellence, and an in-depth understanding of Ethiopian financial regulations, particularly in import/export and tax compliance. This position reports directly to the General Manager and collaborates closely with other departments to achieve organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Analysis and Reporting
Analyze and interpret financial data to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
Prepare cash flow statements and comprehensive financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Deliver financial forecasts, variance analysis, and budget performance reviews.
2. Budgeting and Planning
Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Oversee budgetary control measures to maintain fiscal discipline and cost efficiency.
3. Taxation and Compliance
Prepare monthly VAT declarations and other government tax obligations, ensuring submission within deadlines.
Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, financial reporting standards, and statutory regulations.
Liaise with tax authorities to handle audits and queries effectively.
4. Accounting and Fiscal Year Closure
Supervise month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accurate financial records.
Oversee the preparation and submission of financial statements in accordance with the fiscal year deadlines.
5. Team Leadership and Development
Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering growth and accountability.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
6. Strategic Contributions
Provide strategic financial guidance to the General Manager and leadership team.
Support business growth initiatives, including cost optimization and risk assessment.
Job Requirements:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance in an import & export business
Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of professional experience, including at least three (3) years in a senior finance management role.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Peachtree accounting software and other financial tools.
Strong understanding of Ethiopian statutory legislation, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
Industry Knowledge:
Previous experience in the import/export sector is highly desirable.
Must be well-informed and up-to-date on Ethiopian financial rules, regulations, and industry legislation.
Proven ability to adapt to changes in regulatory requirements and integrate them into financial operations seamlessly.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and inspire a team while maintaining high standards of performance.
